Idaho’s Continuum of Care provides funding for services provided to persons experiencing homelessness through several sources of federal funding. These pages provide an overview of programs and services available, program information, and grant applications.
Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) - The purpose of the program is to accommodate the beginning steps in Idaho's Continuum of Care process by preventing homelessness and providing Emergency Shelter that meets immediate needs and enables the homeless population to move toward independent living.
Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) - an electronic data collection system specifically designed to capture client-level, longitudinal, system-wide information on the characteristics and services needs of men, women, and children experiencing homelessness. HMIS provides standardized data to improve our understanding of homeless in Idaho and to measure the progress in meeting the national strategic goal of preventing and ending homelessness.
Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS/HIV (HOPWA) - contracted HOPWA service providers throughout the State of Idaho that specialize in HIV/AIDS related services.
Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) - intended to prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless and to help re-house and stabilize those already experiencing homelessness.
Shelter Plus Care Program (S+C) - a program designed to provide housing and supportive services on a long-term basis for homeless persons with disabilities and their families.
Supportive Housing Program (SHP) - designed to promote, as part of a local Continuum of Care strategy, the development of supportive housing and supportive services to assist homeless persons in the transition from homelessness, and to enable them to live as independently as possible.
