Free Home Ownership Fair for First-Time Home Buyers to be Held
June 7
BOISE - A free Home Ownership Fair for first-time home buyers
will be held Saturday, June 7, 1997, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the
Boise Centre on the Grove. This special event is sponsored by Partners
in Home Ownership and is part of an outreach effort for the nationwide
National Home Ownership Week" celebration June 7-14, 1997.
The purpose of the Home Ownership Fair is to educate first-time home
buyers on how to purchase a home and which local organizations and
resources can help them into home ownership. Home ownership
contributes to Idaho's strong economy, builds strong communities and
is a powerful tool for building economic stability and self-esteem for
families.
Some Home Ownership Fair activities include individual workshops
and seminars presented by local experts in housing and finance. They
will explain how to become a first-time home buyer and what products
and services are available.
Information booths staffed by local real estate groups, mortgage
lending groups and home owner assistance programs will help fair
attenders. Some fair participants include: Boise City Housing and
Community Development, the Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD), Idaho Housing and Finance Association, Boise Neighborhood
Housing Services, the Rural Development Agency, the Veterans
Administration, Bank of America, Washington Mutual, Norwest, US Bank,
Credit Data, Executive Reporting, Realty One, Hometown Services and
Cory Barton Builders.
The Magic Man Brad" will be performing for children from 1-5
p.m., and informational pamphlets and promotional items will be
available from fair participants.
