Idaho Housing and Finance Association Provides $191,000 Home
Loan for Assisted-Living Apartments in St. Maries, ID.
BOISE - On Friday, July 18, Representative Helen Chenoweth
and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Vernon Jordan will help
kick off two full days of dedication ceremonies for the new $4 million
expansion of the Valley Vista Care Center in St. Maries, Idaho. The
center is known throughout the Pacific Northwest as a premier care
provider for patients with nervous system disorders such as
Huntington's and Parkinson's disease.
Nineteen assisted-living apartments in the expansion were financed
in part through a low-interest $191,000 HOME loan from the Idaho
Housing and Finance Association (IHFA). State officials, IHFA
representatives and local luminaries will be on hand to celebrate
Friday evening with a ribbon-cutting, barbecue, live music and
facility tours. "We are pleased to support a project that
provides an attractive design along with the promise of a high quality
of life for its residents," said IHFA Executive Director Rod
Beck. The HOME-financed units offer limited-income residents a chance
for independent living in proximity to some of the best medical care
in the northwest.
IHFA is the federal HOME funds administrator for the State of
Idaho. During the 12 months ending June 30, Idaho received $3,723,000
in HOME funds for multifamily development loans. HOME loans require
matching funds from other sources, and HOME-assisted units are
reserved for limited-income households.
IHFA is an independent organization that promotes affordable
housing opportunities throughout Idaho without direct cost to Idaho
taxpayers. For more information, contact IHFA at 208-331-4884.
