IHFA To Hold Free Landlord Workshop in Idaho Falls on Sept. 26
IDAHO FALLS - Area landlords are invited to attend a free
two-hour workshop on Sept. 26, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., at the Quality
Inn Motel and Convention Center, 850 Lindsay Blvd. in Idaho Falls. The
workshop is sponsored by the Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA).
An introduction to IHA's Section 8 rental assistance program will
be provided to prospective landlords interested in participating in
the program. Information on new regulation changes will also be
provided for landlords currently participating in the program. Topics
to be discussed include a review of new leases and contracts, tenant
selection, property management strategies and unit maintenance.
Scheduled speakers include IHFA staff, a local landlord and
property owner and a representative from the legal community
specializing in housing related law.
Workshop seating is limited and interested landlords are encouraged
to reserve space by contacting IHFA's Idaho Falls office at (208)
522-6002.
"Changes in Idaho's Section 8 Rental Assistance program makes
this workshop invaluable to the landlords we work with," said Rod
Beck, IHFA executive director. "Participating landlords and
property owners are an important part of this program and these
informative workshops ensure they are knowledgeable and
up-to-date," said Beck.
IHFA administers Section 8 programs on behalf of HUD in areas of
the state (in 34 of 44 Idaho counties) that do not have local housing
authorities. Each month, IHFA, in partnership with HUD and
participating landlords, provides affordable rental housing to more
than 2,500 Idaho households.
The Idaho Housing and Finance Association is self-supporting
nonprofit corporate body. IHFA's mission is to promote affordable
housing opportunities to Idaho's limited-income citizens. IHFA uses no
state funds or state employees to support its operations.
