IHFA Garners Record Number of Idaho Press Club Awards

BOISE - The Idaho Housing and Finance Association received a record eight awards from the 2000 Idaho Press Club Awards competition, IHFA officials announced. This is the sixth consecutive year that IHFA’s Communications Department has participated in the competition, and the most awards given to the Association.

IHFA competed in the Public Relations category with other Idaho companies and agencies, receiving:

  • 1st place for IHFA’s 2000 Annual Report;
  • 1st place in Media Kit for the 2000 Idaho Governor’s Conference on Housing;
  • 1st place in Newsletter for HomeSense newsletter;
  • 2nd place in News Releases;
  • 3rd place in Script Writing;
  • 3rd place in Media Kits;
  • 3rd place in Newsletter; and
  • 3rd place for Web Site.

This year’s Idaho Press Club Awards received 1,051 total entries. A representative from the Utah Schools Public Relations Association judged entries in the Public Relations division based on reader/viewer interest, originality, technical/writing excellence, fitting category criteria, impact of story lead and writing style. Web sites were judged by Brian Bishop, web editor of the Green Bay Press-Gazette in Wisconsin. Other divisions of competition included Daily and Weekly Newspaper, Magazine, Television, Radio, Student and Arts in Idaho.
