IHFA Landlord Workshop Sept. 5 in Coeur d'Alene Will Explain Housing Issues
BOISE -
Property owners, managers and landlords in North Idaho are encouraged to attend a free workshop in Coeur d'Alene regarding housing issues and the Section 8 Voucher program on Friday, Sept. 5 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Kootenai Health Resource Center at 2003 Lincoln Way in Coeur d'Alene.
Seating is limited and those planning to attend must call to reserve space by contacting IHFA's Coeur d'Alene office at (208) 667-3380, or toll-free 1-866-621-2994. The IHFA branch office is located at 610 W. Hubbard, Bay 219.
The discussion will center on landlord-provided leases and clearances for lead-based paint. Additional landlord-tenant topics also will be discussed.
IHFA administers Section 8 Rental Assistance on behalf of HUD in 34 of Idaho's 44 counties. Section 8 vouchers are used by tenants to rent units on the open market. In 2002, IHFA administered over $5.8 million in Housing Assistance Payments to participating North Idaho landlords in the Section 8 tenant-based and project-based programs, benefiting 1,720 low-income households. To be eligible for rental assistance, households must qualify under HUD income limits and pay 30 percent of their adjusted gross monthly income for rent and utilities.
Landlord workshops are coordinated regularly by each of IHFA's branch offices, located in Coeur d'Alene, Lewiston, Twin Falls and Idaho Falls.
