IHFA Brings Three Fair Housing Workshops to Idaho
Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA) today announced that three Fair Housing workshops will be held in Idaho. The workshops, designed for property managers, landlords, housing providers, and housing advocates, will take place November 8 - 10 in Coeur d'Alene, Pocatello, and Boise. November 3 is the deadline for registration.
Theresa L. Kitay, president of the Fair Housing Institute and partner in the law firm of Coughlin, Kitay & Edelstein, P.C., will conduct each training. Workshop topics will include Fair Housing Law - protected classes, accessibility requirements, reasonable accommodation and modification requests, companion, support and assistance animals, and current trends in case law.
The workshops are sponsored by IHFA and the Idaho Department of Commerce and Labor, with additional support from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Idaho Affordable Housing Management Association.
"Our goal with these workshops is to raise awareness of fair housing and accessibility requirements among all housing professionals," said Julie Williams, vice president of Community Housing Services for IHFA. "Workshop sponsors will donate 100 percent of the registration fees to the statewide Accessibility Improvements Program, which helps Idahoans living with a disability make their homes more accessible."
