IHFA Hosts Free Anti-Mold Workshop for Landlords in Twin Falls

Twin Falls - Property owners, managers and landlords in southcentral Idaho are encouraged to attend a free workshop on mold issues. The workshop, hosted by Idaho Housing and Finance Association, is scheduled for Monday, November 14, at the IHFA office in Twin Falls, at 844 Washington Street North, Suite 300.

"Ron Reese, President of REE-Construction and a certified restoration specialist, will discuss mold - types, causes and clean up," said IHFA Branch Supervisor Sunny Jensen. "We encourage landlords, REALTORS®, home buyers and sellers, and bankers in the area to attend."

The workshop will be held from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Seating is limited, and those planning to attend must call to reserve space by contacting IHFA's Twin Falls branch office at (208) 734-8531 or toll-free 1-866-234-3435.

IHFA administers Section 8 Rental Assistance on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in 34 of Idaho's 44 counties. In 2004, IHFA administered just over $5 million in Housing Assistance Payments to participating southcentral Idaho landlords. As a result, 1,500 low-income households through tenant-based and project-based programs have benefited from this investment.

To be eligible for rental assistance, households must qualify under HUD income limits and pay 30 percent of their adjusted gross monthly income for rent and utilities.

IHFA's four branch offices, located in Coeur d'Alene, Lewiston, Twin Falls, and Idaho Falls, administer the Section 8 program and regularly conduct landlord workshops.
