Affordable housing now available in Blackfoot
(BLACKFOOT) As foreclosures and financial difficulties compound across Idaho, the availability of affordable housing becomes even more critical for low-income residents. Chaparral Meadows, a community in Blackfoot, offers amenity-rich apartments at affordable rates and accepts Section 8 housing choice vouchers.
Chaparral Meadows, located on 1417 Chuckwagon Place, currently has two- and three-bedroom apartments available for rent to families that meet program income requirements. The property includes single car garages, an on-site playground and bus stop, and recreational facilities, senior center and grocery shopping all within five miles.
“Now more than ever, we need to make sure that those who need quality, affordable housing, find it. Chaparral Meadows is a great option for Blackfoot families,” says Douglas Peterson, director of The Housing Company—a non-profit organization that provides rental housing options for Idahoans, and serves as the management company for Chaparral Meadows and other affordable properties across the state.
To learn more about renting an apartment at Chaparral Meadows, call (208) 785-6824. To find more affordable housing options in Idaho, visit www.housingidaho.com, a free, bilingual, statewide rental listing service brought to you by the Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA).
IHFA administers Section 8 rental assistance, a program designed by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to help eligible households rent safe, sanitary and affordable housing by paying a portion of rental costs.
