Affordable housing now available in Rexburg

(REXBURG) As foreclosures and financial difficulties compound across Idaho, the availability of affordable housing becomes even more critical for low-income residents. Village Community Gardens, an apartment complex in Rexburg, offers amenity-rich apartments for qualified seniors.

Seniors 62 and older who meet Section 8 income requirements can rent large one bedroom apartments complete with kitchen appliances, cable, air conditioning in most units, and laundry facilities throughout the building. Village Community Gardens, located on 121 N. Center, also offers two dayrooms and a community room.

“Now more than ever, we need to make sure that those who need quality, affordable housing, find it. Village Community Gardens is a great option for Rexburg seniors,” says Douglas Peterson, director of The Housing Company—a non-profit organization that provides rental housing options for Idahoans, and serves as the management company for Village Community Gardens and other affordable properties across the state.

To learn more about renting an apartment at Village Community Gardens, call (208) 356-6062. To find more affordable housing options in Idaho, visit www.housingidaho.com, a free, bilingual, statewide rental listing service brought to you by the Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA).

IHFA administers Section 8 rental assistance, a program designed by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to help eligible households rent safe, sanitary and affordable housing by paying a portion of rental costs.
