IHFA to host Section 8 and Tax Credit/HOME compliance workshops across Idaho

(BOISE) Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA) will hold workshops statewide over the next few months to educate apartment managers, management agents, and owners on keeping their properties in compliance with the required federal standards. IHFA administers funding for the federal Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance Program, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, and HOME Program, and monitors properties receiving this funding to assure they meet federal standards.

"The training will cover best practices of how owners and site managers can continue to comply with federal funding regulations," said Sheryl Putnam, IHFA Compliance manager. "We will also cover recent updates to the programs and address attendee’s questions and concerns."

Trainings have been planned based on the type of funding a project receives. Tax Credit/HOME training will cover income calculations, dealing with vacant units, applications, staffing, and recent updates to the program. The Section 8 training will include separate sections for owner/agents and site managers, and will cover EIV requirements and compliance, special claims submissions, common errors, and contract renewals. The cost to attend the workshops is $45.

To register, visit http://www.ihfa.org/compliance_workshop_online_enrollment.asp.
